Toksu Palace

    Toksu Palace
Toksu-kung ('kung' can mean 'palace' or 'castle' in Korean) is located in the heart of downtown Seoul not five minutes from City Hall. It has over 400 years of history and, though small, has served as the royal residence twice in times of trouble. Every weekend the entrance gate is also host to the Royal Guards Changing Ceremony - a re-enactment of a combination of Chosun era practices.

March-October: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
November to February: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Closed on Mondays!
Subway: get out at City Hall Station (red and green lines) and walk 2-5 minutes.
Taxi: tell the driver 'Toksu-kung' or 'Dawksu-goong'
Right on a huge traffic intersection the main gate, Taehanmun, is quite easy to find. From the subway just follow the maps or simply ask someone to point you in the right direction.
