The War Memorial of Korea (Korean War Museum)

The War Memorial was completed in June, 1996 - making it one of Korea's newest attractions. There are both outdoor and indoor displays across this huge complex. Not just about the 1950-53 'Korean war', the memorial covers approximately 2000 years of Korean history. There are various special exhibitions throughout the year plus an army honor guard parade - check the website for more info. Hours March-October: 9:30 - 6 p.m. November-February: 9:30 - 5 p.m. Closed Mondays unless the Monday is a national holiday in which case the memorial is closed the following (working) day.  Admission Call (02) 709-3200, or check the website, for updated admissions charges. Transportation Subway: a five-minute walk from Samgakchi Station on the blue line. Taxi: tell the driver 'cheon-jeng ki-nyeom-gwan'. Directions This huge complex, located across the street and next to the U.S. Army's main base in Seoul, is quite easy to spot and clearly marked.
